OTC value of derivatives is up 350% in past 8 years

The OTC (over-the-counter) derivatives market has been growing by leaps and bounds. In the past eight years the total value of outstanding OTC derivatives grew from $80 trillion to nearly $285 trillion at the end of 2005. That is a change of 350%.

Big Change in Online advertising

According to the IAB and PWC Internet advertising is up to nearly $4 billion from essentially zero in 1996. This is a huge delta.

Aside from the 1999-2001 bubble Internet advertising is enjoying a consistent upswing.

Private equity investment took off like a rocket in 2005. Page 54 of the February issue of BusinessWeek shows report $174 billion flowed into privated equity funds in 2005. Up from $42 billion in 2004.
